- Disconnect the wire connected to the fuse.
- Set your multimeter into the continuity test. And, place both probes on the fuse wire terminal.
- If the thermal switch has a continuity multimeter will show a significant change in the meter readings and also makes a beeping sound. A blown thermal switch won’t have any significant change on the meter display and also doesn’t make a beeping sound.
This is how you can test the thermal fuse continuity. If the above test doesn’t show continuity on the thermal fuse considers replacing the fuse.
The thermostat is another key component of the dryer that helps the dryer regulate the temperature.
There are some situations when the temperatures inside the dryer can reach a maximum.
In such a situation, the thermostat instructs the heating element to shut down to prevent dryer from catching fire.
Though, the thermostat doesn’t produce heat but when it fails component that produces heat may not function properly.
Therefore, if your dryer is not heating up and the problem persists check the thermostat.
The thermostat is located around the heating compartment or blower.
